Whistles from Urdaibai: The Organ Builder Lope Alberdi
The exhibition recovers the figure of Lope Alberdi (1868-1948), an organ builder from Busturialdea-Urdaibai who brought the sound of his organs throughout the Iberian Peninsula and across the ocean, to the Americas and the Philippines.
Today, his instruments continue to sound in Urdaibai as a living museum that allows visitors to trace the evolution of the organ, from the mechanical system to the pneumatic one. Likewise, the exhibition reminds us of the need to protect this valuable heritage that is at risk.
Sifflements d’Urdaibai: le facteur d’orgues Lope Alberdi
L’exposition redécouvre la figure de Lope Alberdi (1868-1948), facteur d’orgues de Busturialdea-Urdaibai qui a porté le son de ses orgues à travers la péninsule ibérique et au-delà des océans, jusqu’en Amérique et aux Philippines.
Aujourd’hui, ses instruments continuent de résonner à Urdaibai comme un musée vivant qui permet de parcourir l’évolution de l’orgue, du système mécanique au système pneumatique. De même, l’exposition rappelle la nécessité de protéger ce précieux patrimoine en danger.
